Is there a way to check when my transmission was manufactured? My truck originally had a TH350 in it that my Granddad replaced with a TH400 in '78 when he bought the truck, and I have no idea how old the 400 is or how many miles the trans. has on it.

There should be a date coded tag on the side of the transmission.

OK, thanks. Will check that out tomorrow. Here's another question, how do I figure out the same thing for my 350 engine? I'm new to this and appreciate the help.
