71 gmc on 77 frame??

im new to this board so this question may be asked already but i will ask it anyways.has any one on here put a 67-72 on a 73-87model frame(4x4) if so i would appreaciate any feed back.i am contemplating this on a 77 3/4 ton 4x4 with 400/4spd . i work in a bodyshop so no frame sectioning scares me . oh , both trucks are longbeds . i havent measured wheelbase yet , i thought this would be a good place to start investigating. any input would be greatly appreaciated.

Your welcome......... If I can help in anyway let me know. Truck was swapped over in 86 and has worked fine since. No problems. Added the rear tank in 94 after looking the wifes Blazer tank over. Its really imprtant to watch for clearance for the distributor when u mount the cab up. Ya have to be able to get it out.

It will be a few days (weekend) before I am around the truck to get you measurments. A guy on here post pics of how to cut weld frames that looked real nice. I used a plate on the inside of my frame.

Mudder67 I sent you a pm about this topic and then found this post. Please send me the same e-mail when you get the chance. The information about the 67 onto a 73-87 frame.

Thanks as always for your willingness to share with the less fortunate!
