How do I get access to the back side of the fender to get the rear emblem off?

Know this is dumb question but I have to remove the K5/Blazer emblems, and I cant get my hand thru the small area behind/under the hood hinge mount, especially on the heater fan side............tried unbolting the bottom of the fender, ha! these fenders don't flex!

Any tricks, short of removing the fender?

The rear nut is between fender and cowl. I taped a wrench on a paint stick once and got it off(after saying my Sunday School lesson backward a few dozen times).
