It's Alive!!!!!!!

Had a couple problems with my truck:

front/rear seals on the transmission needed to be replaced

flywheel was missing teeth

starter crapped out

First thing we did was tow the truck to my house. That was funny as hell. My dad drove his 85 1/2 ton suburban while I was in the truck to stop it and the suburban at the same time. We didn't have any problems towing it, except it's a ***** when you don't have power steering or power brakes. When we got it home we cleaned the transmission and pushed it into the driveway, Then we started working on it and got the trans. out, seals replaced, pan re-installed, etc. We finally got it mounted and hooked up about 4hrs later. Today we just put another starter on and fired it up. Without a muffler. Nothing but the y pipe that stopped at about the carrier bearing. Gonna put a 2 1/2" CherryBomb glasspack on it with a turndown tomorrow, that'll run about 30-35 bucks total. Will test drive on Tuesday and hopefully everything's right.

Yeah, it was. 'Cept that it was over 95 degrees outside while we were working on it. The only shade we had was being under the truck. Just put the muffler on an hour ago and fired it up, runs great now that I adjusted the idle mixture and sounds sweet. I let it warm up and the transmission was full and didn't leak, so far so good. Tomorrow morning we'll find out if our work paid off.

I feel your pain brother, I am laying on a 90 degree concrete slab trying to get my truck back on the road. Everything I touch is blistering hot and I have to stop every 30 min. to cool off. Fun ain't it!
