Starting problems, please help!
I have a 89 Silverado ex cab I bought for $1100 had a crate engine put in and it has been going good for the first month. Then one day I put in a paint in bedliner and the next morning it would not start. Traced problem to I'm not getting voltage to injectors to get gas. For the past three days it wouldn't start in the mornings but in the evening it would. Does anyone have a clue what this could be? This is a little frustrating tosay the least.

If you used a NODE light to check it out, the problem could be no injector ground/trigger.
The TBI systems supply voltage to the injectors when the key is on, but the computor controls the ground curcuit. On later TBI systems there are separate power supply wires for each injector all the way back through the fire wall. On your 1989 I believe a single wire splits into two wires just before the harness gets to the TBI unit. If the problems is on the power supply side, but it starts later, you have a bad connection. In this case I would try moving the wire harness, after is running, if it will start like you said in the afternoons. If your sure it's on the power side, lets us know and we will help trace it down. I'm not so sure it is the computer anymore. It wouldn't start again the other day and I took the dist. cap off and checked for voltage at the pick-up coil and put the cap back on and the truck started and has started for the two days. Getting really confused.
