well, i don't have one...but was considering getting the standard edelbrock performer manifold...and then was wondering how much of a difference a performer gap manifold would make...anyone have any opionons on this?

If you want low end to mid range...then it's my understanding the Performer is the way to go. I have just bought a Performer for my 402BB...I have not decided on carb yet. It will be an Edelbrock but still not sure of size or type yet. I don't want to small nor to big. Decisions...Decisions?

we just installed one on a new crate motor in a 70 PU. Engine is running, but haven't had a chance to drive it yet. I'll let you know how it works.

the real question isn't about the performer per se but rather the increased performance of the gap version of the performer. it's about $100 more and if the increase in performance isn't significant then it would be nice to know...

i called edelbrock about a question on my new #1721 fuel pump, so I asked them if there would be any noticable difference from the '70 Z28 intake and they said that the noticable difference would be on hot days, and would help out with the fuel percolation the the performer carbs can have. worth the extra $90???? what ya all think?????

There is a big problem with the Edelbrock carbs in hot climates. The base plates warp. a friend of mine has a shop with a pile of them that Edelbrock won't do anything about. He sent them one so they could see the problem and they said the only way to fix the problem was to machine the base plate. They said to use a plastic spacer under the carb.
