Headliner
My truck was a 'fleet' truck. 6 cyl, 3 spd, no frills like a radio, cigarette lighter or dome light. Also no headliner. Can I add one now? Does it glue to the roof or use screws?

The original headliners were glued in and also held in with chrome trim that would go around the edge of them. The only problem is, the holes for the trim are oval-shaped (very hard to duplicate). It suppose it would be possible however.

It will take some time to cut out all the mounting holes for the trim piece that keeps it on but it is possible. You pretty much need a truck right there for you to copy the measurements from. The holes are oval so you have to drill some holes then file between them.

It wasnt to long ago that this subject was brought up. 69 if I remember right was the first year of the headliner. Putting this into the earlier cabs is a little tricky putting in the chrome strip but is doable. You can also use a good Apholstery adhesive and put it in place. Some members have done this and which case I will be doing soon as well. I like the idea of the trim but have opted to do it without it. I have the new headliner but yet havent installed it yet. My helper (14yr old son) has taken up a job this summer as a counsler helper isnt home to much to help me..

you can also buy some chrome/silver pipeing or edgeing as well which I have seen and it looks really nice.... also saw one with black material and then an Orange piping ..... it can be glued to headliner then headliner glued to roof....

Thanks for the input. I finally put in a dome light, but didn't want the stock look, so put in a dual map light unit from an RV store. It also never had bulbs in the side markers, so I may do something about that. I'll probably have to get a second battery for all this stuff - j/k.

I put a headliner in my truck. Not a big deal! Glued the liner up then I broke the tabs off the headliner trim and used very small screws....
