How are your Airbags?
I was considering airbags and I wanted to what kind of ride you get out of them. If you have airbags on your truck, tell me how your ride quality is and doesit compare to a lowered truck??

I had them on my 83 for about 6 months driving the truck daily and it rode much better than my wifes static dropped 98 Silverado. I had an ART parallel 4 link out back with a sleeve bag and a normal convoluted setup up front. I had Monroe shocks up front and Gabriel red ryders out back, cheap shocks but it rode great.

If set up properly air bags and the correct shocks will give a ride just as good if not better than a large static drop. On the other hand, nothing will kill the ride quicker than a set of 35 series tires....

I've been through two bag' setups on my truck. Ride quality and handling are largely affected by what kind of shock absorbers are used, bag' placement in the rear, what type front-end bushings are installed (Polygraphite or.....), and if the truck has an anti-sway bar. As N2TRUX mentioned, tire sidewall height makes a BIG difference in ride quality.
My 87' with HAL QA1 shock absorbers, F9000's behind the axle, polygraphite front-end, aftermarket anti-sway bar, and 255/35/ZR20 tires rides/handles awesome. Firm but not harsh.

I would not buy airbags just to get a better ride. The ride is good but nothing to write home about. I have had my bags on for about 3-4 years now and I have had no problems.

If lifting and lowering was for the ride and not the looks, no one would have ever done it!
