How much would you pay for a used rebuilt quadrajet carb. for a 72' 402 750cfm with 66,000 origional miles and the choke with the spring in it? Thank you

I bought a rebiult from autozone for $175.00 with a guarantee for my 402 BB.

they call quadrajet's quadra-junk for a reason. spend the extra money and buy a good quality carb from a repitable sorce.

Quadra-junk is an attept to discredit a thing we don't understand.

Properly tuned, they are fine. There are people who swear by them and wouldn't use anything else........
If they were so bad, would GM have continued to use them for so many years?

I have ran them for years with no problems what-so-ever. I think they are fine for a stock setup. If you want a little more preformance then I would go to an aftermarket carb, becauses I have had better luck tuning them than the quadrajets. Dan

properly tuned they are good daily performers and economical for a 4 barrell carb.

In my opinion, the only problem with a used carb, even tho it is claimed to be rebuilt, is whether or not you have seen it running on an engine. If it was built, run, then pulled off and put on a shelf, it may need built, again. Not always the case, but possible.

Q-Jets have been defamed due to their propensity to leak, but that can be easily fixed. With a couple of adjustments, they can be made to run very well.

I bought a new Edelbrock 1901 Q-Jet to put on my '69. I'm quite satisfied with it. Got it at the "Zone" for $289.....new, and in the box. Seems they had the price wrong for some reason, or another, but they had to sell it for the quoted price. That was in '01.

Daves, I would say for a really good rebuilt q jet not completely refurbushed but still in good clean condition around $75

I paid $150 for the one I'm using now and it out performs the edelbrocks and holleys I've used in the past.
