I want to get started of a frame for my '68 panel. I found a '68 Burb that I can get fairly cheap, but it's a 3/4 ton and my panel is 1/2. Are the two frames the same? I'd like to stay with 1/2 for the ride, plus, call me crazy but I like the 6 lug look. This Burb has a v-8/automatic, so I can use the mounts and x-member and the front clip and bumpers are in pretty good shape.

Pretty much the difference between 3/4 and 1/2 ton 2wd are the rubber body bushing and rad cradle bushing are bigger on the 3/4 ton suspension vehicles. The rear cab mount on the frame is at a lower height on the frame of the 3/4 ton but its lift is achived by the longer cab bushings.. so the 3/4 sits as little higher. Hmm but this is a sub right... hmm dont have a 2wd sub but thats the way it is with trucks... should be the same for subs possibly.

Only difference on 'burb frames is the suspension - the frame itself is the same.
