69-70 grille insert/ Picture
I just saw the grille shell and insert in Tim Christian's catalog. Does anyone have a pic of how this insert looks installed? Te catalog says it's molded plastic, does that mean it's paintable?

I would assume it looks like any other grill installed. If you want to paint plastic, you need to use one of the spray paints made for plastic, Krylon calls theirs fusion. It actually melts the surface just enough for the paint to stick.

Is this what you're looking for? This is an old shot of my truck before I started body work. I have my inner grill painted with a couple of coats of dupont gloss black with a couple of coats of clear ontop of it. My headlight bezels are the same way. Hope this helps.

Fred & HotRod70C10:
you da man. x2. this is just the info I was looking for. Yer pic and info make it all clear. I like that paint job on the inner part or Hotrod's grill. really sets off the outer grill. |

Hey, No problem. By the way, I did prime and sand it before I painted.... I should have mentioned that before. Good luck.

Appreciate the advice. I'm getting to it as soon as it comes back from the shop with the new disc brakes.
