What basic metalwork tools do i need?

Im hoping to start some patch work on my cab. So far I can use a Miller wire welder, and I need to get some wire for it. Im going to buy a cut-off tool. Do i need special grinding wheels that arent so rough that scar up the metal? What else do i need?

That is a loaded question...LOL! You can get by with tin snips, basic hammer and dolly kiit from Harbor Frieght, 4-inch electric right angle grinder, sanding disc and grinding wheel for 4-inch unit, and spot weld cutter. Those are the just the basics. Soon you will find that it is much faster to have a complete complement of air tools and a BIG compressor to run them. Every day I find something else that will make this work go a little faster and easier from a cart that holds all my welding, grinding and sanding gear to a large disc sander to help shape the parts I am attempting to patch into place. It is a process of continual improvement.

Start by attempting something very basic and easy and you find out quickly what tools you will need.
