sbc to bbc conversion question

We pulled the 383 out and dropped the 502 in today. It bolted up fine to the towers with the big block mounts we got, but our hooker supercomp 2826 headers will not bolt up because of the towers interfering. Are there different towers made for the big block, or do we have to take these ones off and modify them to allow the clearance we need? Or did we just get the wrong headers? Thanks in advance for your help. Dave Thomas

Are you using towers from a BB truck? I think they are different from the SB towers, this may be causing you clearance problems.

You need big block towers. There's a set for sale on the parts board right now for a hundred bucks. They are dished for exhaust clearance.

I did the big block swap thing in my truck. It takes a lot of little details to get it just right.
