Even better than a visit from the UPS Truck! NEW TRUCK!

Well, I finally got the 1970 SWB 4x4 home this week. Its a complete truck that I will be doing this winter, which includes a body swap and maybe an altitude adjustment. Came with a fresh 350 SBC/TH350 trans and 205 Transfer case, 72' running gear as well so its got discs up front. I'm new the the whole 4x4 game so this will be intresting!
Most the parts in the pics will be going up forsale soon besides the rolling frame, I know I've got 2 doors, 1 69-72 hood, 1 67-68 hood, 67-68 grille, 69-70 grille, 70 core support, rough cab with new rockers/floors and a good un-cut non-A/C dash, nice 69-72 cowl, couple auto steering columns, set of inner fenders...the list goes on an on. Anyways, I'll post everything i have on the Forale Boards after I go through all the boxes and sort out what I do and dont need. It was like Christmas day around here and I cant wait to get strted this winter!
One small problem so far...I've got the title to the frame (Original cab is gone) and the VIN tag for the cab is missing. I know the frame is stamped and it is matching. Will the DMV accept this if I tell them the original cab was wrecked by the PO so it was replaced?
Anyways, heres the pics, enjoy!

Kenny

I too have a shortbox frame that I'm going to be putting under my current pickup....VIN's do not match. DMV will never check the frame number (in Oregon at least). The only time that number would be looked at was if it was stolen. It's just there because most thieves don't go that far (to damaging/removing the frame VIN number). The DMV will only check the VIN tag in the door jamb and they will only check that one if the vehicle has an out-of-state title. (I just went through all of this on mine about two weeks ago). Don't sweat it.

I like your project truck, should give ya something to do this winter. I bet the neighbors eyes popped out of their sockets when the roll-off container showed up and your truck rolls out

So you guys like our transporting methods eh? My family owns a Sanitation Service here in town and my Dad (first pic) helped me out with everything. The container is a drop box, similar to what you would find behind most businesses for their garbage, luckily they had a new one that was CLEAN and the truck just barely fit. We used some straps and chains to winch it in with the hook and made the 8 mile trip accross town back to our place. We've done this method for a couple vehicles, including my 79' Chevy C-10.

I hope to have it all together and driving By Spring 05'. Thanks for the comments guys

Kenny

From the looks of that pic I don't think you need to change anything. Look what all the people behind you are looking at..... Your truck!
Good luck though!
