How does the coolant overflow bottle mount?

My overflow jug is in ok shape but it is just hanging. I have tried to figure out how to mount it with no luck. Anybody got pictures of how it mounts?

What exactly do you need to know? Are you asking where it mounts on the fender? This is the only pic I have but I can take another one if you need more info....

*Edit* Uhhh wrong pic. Now I can't find the ones that show the core support. If you need one let me know.... :p

I think that's the washer bottle....

My recovery jug mounts with 2 bolts to the radiator support on my 77.

On my '86 Silverado it mounts on the passenger side fender. It has 3 bolts that go through the fender from underneath. If you don't get a pic, send me an email (I'll probably forget to check the thread...) and I'll take one this weekend.

Yours should mount to the passenger fender. I don't think 86 red bowtie's bottle is stock.

I wasn't able to get pics this weekend because of the rain. Mine mounts to the fender. Do you still need some more detailed pics?

BTW, I replaced mine with a new bottle that I purchased at the dealer. I asked for a bottle for an '86 silverado with a 305 and they gave me the fender mounted one. The old one was fender mounted as well.

I probably won't be able to take pics tonight, but I'll try to do it tomorrow. If you don't see pics tomorrow, send me another email. I am getting forgetful in my old age.

I can tell you from replacing mine that there are 3 holes in the fender that match up to the ones in the bottle. The bottle has 3 nuts on it (are they called blind nuts?...like the ones that hold the fan shroud on). There are 3 bolts that go though the inner fender well from the bottom and into the nuts.

Wonder if the placement of the radiator overflow is dependant if that air intake hose is mounted/used to the radiator core?
