how hard is it to repair/replace cab floor supports on the 67-72 style? what is better the oem style or slip on style?

I prefer the oe type, slip on is like covering up a problem. The hard part is getting them off and drilling out all the spot welds. The ones around where the bolts go through are a major pita.
