WTB Hold down chrome strip for Blazer .

I am not sure what you call it . I need a hold down chrome strip that holds down the rubber floor cover . The chrome strip fits just in front of the tail gate on the bed for a 71 Blazer Want a nice one . Jose

American Classic Truck Parts lists the following which looks like what you need:

Quote:
Tailgate Seals and Items:
BLZ-35 1969-72 Rear scuff plate, holds down the mat at the tailgate, Blazer, stainless steel, not pre-drilled $22.00 Each
The attached image is from the website (wish it were better...).

Does anyone have any experience with this part?

I'm also interested since my Blazer needs one too.

My '72 has the real thing. There is one by the tailgate and one on the step behind the front seats. It is a pretty simple piece so I wouldn't think it would be too hard to make. It is interesting that it isn't pre-drilled though.

There are actually 2 different styles of hold down strips one looks like what would be a smaller chrome version of the strip that would cover the bed seams in a wood bed and the other has a small 45 like a carpet strip from home depot. The 1st is the most common

Mine are the same as Bouncy's. Just figured out what they were two days ago too. hehe. They are a little over an inch wide with a down turned lip, not quite a 45'. Looks like they were drilled to hit every other rib in the bed too. I think any piece of chrome or stainless would work just fine for it. Matter of fact, I think I will try to replace mine with stainless. These are fairly rusty. Jeff.

Nope. It stops before the gate.
