Question Fluid in Knock Sensor

Have a 92 GMC Sierra XLS Extra Cab 3.2 5 speed on flloor! Engine is 2 years old with 24000. Recently received a check engine light while under hard acceleration. Diagnosed as Knock Sensor and replaced. Told that there was coolant fluid within. Questioned installer who said that's normal. Is it?

The knock sensors are usually installed in what would have been the block drain. Coolant touches it, but should never get inside it. The sensor has a piezoelectric cell in it that produces voltage.

Thanks! I've got a feeling that the installer and I aren't communicating! I guess I'm going to have to go over his head! Appreciate your help!
