It has 6 lug axles in it now. The rear end came out of a 70 model CST 10. You can swap in 5 lug axles in a 70 model. The 70 rear ends are the same width as the 71-72s.
I assume it is in good condition. I bought the truck and drove it about a week. I am parting it out now. Joshua |

Some 70s are wider and some are the older narrow ones. That was the break year. You have to measure to be sure which width of 70 rear you have.
My current 70 truck, which I am the second owner of, had the original narrow 6 lug rear. I had to change my whole rear end rather than just axle shafts to go to 5 lug.

Same here. I bought a nice '70 posi rear and had to end up swapping the guts out to my 5 lug '71 rear, because of the different widths......

Could I get you to measure the width of the rear end?

The rear end measures roughtly 84.25" from backing plate to backing plate. I also measured a 72 rear end I had laying around and it was the same.

84.25", you must be mistaken. It should be more on the order of 60 odd inches.
