Nice writeup - I'm sure I have said this before but your engine is awesome looking! I'm using a 454 out of a 89 1 ton with it's alterntor - wonder how I could find out what it's amp rating is, I'm assuming it would be at least 100 amp.

Mark, most likely your alternator is a 12SI 105 amp.

You guys should check out www.madelectrical.com, I bought his CS12 rewire kit along with several other items. Mike spent about 45 mins. just B/Sing with me about my ideas when I ordered the stuff from him. He even threw in a couple of items for free.
Took me about 2 hrs to manufacture the harnesses and about 5 hrs to rewire the alternator and charging system. I also installed 40 amp headlight relays all where the external voltage regulator used to be. It's a sweeeeeet looking install, and works great.... |
