clutch
i've got a 1968 1/2 ton chevy truck that i put a 1986 350 in. i was told i could use the old clutch. ok can i use the flywheel for a 1986. thanks

You pretty much have to use the flywheel that fits the crank.

Make sure the diameter is the same, or the starter won't work.

They changed the balance of the engines when they went to 1 piece rear main seal, as well as changing the flywheel. They also changed the bolt pattern of the flywheel when they did that. If the flywheel will bolt on, it will work. It's foolproof! Gotta love GM for things like that.

ok the flywhell does'nt work. what can i do to get the clutch to work. plus i made a bracket for the stud on the z bar does any body have a factory one i can buy. thanks

clutch
well i forgot to say what clutch it was. i got a 1986 flywheel, pressure plate and disk. the disk is in right. i used a short throwout bearing. now i got a long bearing. i did'nt put it in because i want to know that it will work. or what do i need to do. the whole story. thanks
