Lubing speedo cable?
What do you use to lube the speedo cable? I remember someone talking about it on here. I got dry graphite, white lithium spray and good ol WD40. I don't want to put something in it and mess it up!

Go to O'Reilly Auto Parts and pick up some "Speedometer Cable Lube" (no joke). It's liquid graphite, and works great. Just be careful with it...it's very thin and will run everywhere if you're not careful.

Lubing speedo cable?
I totally agree with Mike. Make sure you have pleanty of towels or paper handy as it is very thin, goes everywhere, and will stain, even paint.

I took my speedo cable out and shot lithium grease down it. Works great and stopped the grinding noise I always heard in the morning from the back of the dash. You can use graphite or lithium grease. Either lasts for years.
