SW Gauge Cluster
Here's a pic of the new gauge setup for the 68. Stewart Warner Maximum Performance silver faced gauges. The cluster is a stock type with the bottom four holes enlarged to fit the 2-5/8" gauges, the speedometer and tach are 5". The speedometer is electric (no more messing around with those little gears to calibrate!) The dash will light up with blue LEDs, I made a little aluminum plate to fill the center and mount the turn signals, high beam indicator, brake warning light, and alternator warning light. Sorry about the pic being a bit crappy, light kept wanting to reflect off the gauges too much.

That's pretty trick! I gotta admit that having the tach on the left and the speedo on the right would mess me up, though!

I agree. I want to do that with mine and actually concidered to just make a frame out of Plywood, router the edges, cover the whole thing in vinyl and put the gauges were I want them. That Center hole seems to be the OE cluster downfall.

thanks for the compliments.
yeah i was debating what side to put the speedometer on, i'll try it out for a while. build some extra length in the wiring to swap them if i need to. i think they resmeble autometer because this division of SW is a bunch of ex-autometer people (that's the rumor i heard anyway can anyone confirm this??)

I just might go that way only with black face gauges. The only thing that has stopped me in the past is the center hole. Just bugs me not to fill it with a guage, so I just pulled my fuel tach kit off Ebay. It has a 3 1/4 face and should look good right there.
