Question What's it worth? small block

Ok I need to sell the 350 and th400 out of my suburban and I'm not sure what to ask. The 350 is .030 over with an edelbrock cam, holley intake, edelbrock carb, mallory distributor, ceramic coated dynomax long tube headers, and was rebuilt last year. The trans was also rebuilt last year and motor and trans only have about 1500 -1800 miles on them. These are not the originals out of the sub. I am trading the suburban body and the guy does not want the motor/tranny. Any thoughts on how much I should ask ?

Maybe this benchmark will help. I just sold a 4-bolt 350 (95,000+ miles on '72) with Holley, stock water pump, alternator, stock manifolds, and starter for $300. Ran fine with no smoke. Your engine is much nicer, rebuilt and with the TH400 should bring much more. I would do a compression check and show the numbers to potential buyers...let them hear it run and even drive it...that works wonders and should overcome their uneasiness with no guarantee.

Location will play a part in how much people are willing to pay...I am in the NW. No matter what is on the engine they will always compare it to what they will pay for a new crate engine from the cheap ads...about $800 here. They may not want the tranny so consider selling it separately.

I hope that helps...good luck!

There's a GM crate 350 w/th400 in local paper, asking $600.
