Extreme make over.....OK sorta extreme

It's not "that" extreme, but it is different. I got tired of the boring restored look of my engine. I plan to do quit a bit more this fall when I put a fresh motor in, but this will hold me over till then.....

Haha, from the looks of it, that's EXACTLY how my truck had to look to pass smog here in CA. But Ken, I'll bet $100 that your EGR valve isn't original. Trucks that came with manifolds WITHOUT AIR tubes, had dual-diaphragm EGR Valves (2 vacuum ports). Stupid I know, but that's how I got around having to REALLY smog my truck the last time, got an EGR Valve exemption.

Looks really cool.

If you need a place to off-load the parts you pulled off and replaced, they sure would dress up my old stock engine.

That is one clean engine bay! I noticed that you are from Cypress, Texas. So am I. I am relatively new to the board -- been here a few weeks. I have a blue 76' Silverado.

It surprises me, but I prefer the way it looked before. It is just so rare that you see a stock restored engine bay.

I have owned a 70 burb, 75 Jimmy, 79 blazer, 88 burb slavaged a complete 85 engine with all accessories and my buddy owns a 80. I know where ever K5 is in every junk yard in the surounding 50 miles. I have never seen a double diaphram EGR on any of them. Maybe that was cali thing or maybe you pissed of the emmissions nazi and he was screwing with you to chase a fictional part.

Nice clean up N2 but I bet it wuld run faster not sucking the hot under hood air with the stock snorkle.

I found that ou on my 75 when I put a 85 air cleaner on it and the Supra Guys prooved that the stock air cleaner with the snorkle in front of the core suport made more HP then the FIPK kit did under the hood with the hood closed on a dyno.

After that came out everybody moved the AFM under the passengerside headlight and took the fog lights out and turned them into scoops.

I agree with everyone else. I like the stocker look too.

If your gonna go for the custom engine look, you need to go all out!
It kinda looks like some teenager threw on a chrome air cleaner and valve covers on his bucket and calls it a hodrod. j/k

LOL. I knew you couldn't stand not having some chrome under the hood a lot longer.

Looks good Ken, my son chromed his up also, I should have some pics up soon. He used the eldebrock covers and air cleaner and used chrome everywhere else - but I like yours that older cover type you use to see in the 70's. But I need to know where you got the chrome air cleaner top for the stock setup, I think that would look cool on my 86.

That looks like the dryer my 76' had before I changed it recently to the newer style with the line coming out of the side rather than the bottom. The only reason I changed was the older style dryer was harder to find and more expensive.
