1995 GMC Cruise Control

Okay guys im in need of some help to see if i cant get my cruise control to work.

okay some back ground info.
1995 GMC Sierra originally had a 4.3 now has a 5.7
5 speed manual transmission

The cruise control stoped working when i had a rebuilt tranny installed in the truck.
since then i have done the swap over to a 5.7. here is were things get interesting. i discovered after installing the motor that in 95 the 5.7 5 speed trucks from the factory were using an older computer than the 4.3 5 speeds that were using a half OBD1 OBD2 computer. So anyways to get the truck to run i installed a a 5.7 automatic trans computer in my truck.

Now my main question is does the powertrain computer have anything to control in the cruise control system? Are there any sensors on the tranny that are part of the cruise control system? Is there any way to test the cruise contorl box?? Also i know that the switch on the clutch is wired into the cruise also.

also, i have installed a new brake switch, and tested the cruise control buttons to make sure they are sending power to the criuse box.

Any suggestions on where to begin??
