Need some ideas on bed liners/protectors

the floor in my bed is ok
my painter primed it but he didnt have enough blue to cover it
hey he painted it for free with the flames
has anyone used a roll on liner?
does anyone use a hard plastic liner? if so where did you get it?
does anyone use a spray liner like rhino?
any input would be great
thanks in advance

If I had a truck I would Rhinoline it just because that stuff lasts really good and doesn't fade. I used Herculiner- you can buy it at Schucks and it worked great for the interior of my blazer- cheap too only about $40 to do the whole floor and bed. My 2 cents.

I did my cab floor when I did the box. It is a great rustproofing as well. In my
opinion do not get a plastic bed liner, they trap moisture and promote rust.

Rhinoliner fades like a big dog here in Texas. Every one I have ever seen that has been in a truck more than a year and exposed to the sun has faded. There are several other brands out there you may want to research before buying.

My 72 has a roll on liner that was put on by the PO. I wouldnt trust it to haul anything back there. It looks ok, but it is not thick enough IMO to resist getting tore up if I were hauling wood or something. My Dad has a Line-X spray on bedliner in his new truck, and it has been in for a little over a year, and it has not faded at all. Still looks good, and is really tough. I hauled a load of sharp scrap steel with it to the recyclers and it only ended up with one little nick in the bed liner that will only cost probably 20 bucks to fix, and you will never know its there. I think it cost about $275 to get the bed/tailgate done. Money well spent in both my opinion and my dads.

So, when I start the rebuild on my 72, it is getting Line-X'd in the bed, under the bed, and under the cab to the firewall.

Just about all liners will fade from the suns UV rays in Texas. Most companies offer some sort of solution that you apply that will rejuvinate the liner.

I have done Rhino liners in the past and they are awesome but a little pricey. If you are doing it on a budget and want the sprayed on look, buy the herculiner or some other brand of roll on and spray it on yourself. You can spray it with a normal sandblasting gun. Just remove the nozzle at the end and get your self some extra hoses because they will be hard to blast with after. You can just clean the gun.
I have done this on 2 vehicles and it worked great. It's not quite the finish of the rhino liner but it does turn out nice.

thanks for all the input
the dent in the gate was there when i bought it
i thought it gave the trruck a little more character
since the truck will just be a driver now and not really a worker
i got a 99 pickup for the hard work
i just want to cover the bed so it looks good
