Need a little help please!!!!!
okay I need a little help please!!! My truck org. didnt have door jamb switches so when I got the truck back last year the P.O. had installed a alarm and they put some type of universal switch mounted on the floor near the rear of the cab . so when the door was opened it would set off the alarm. I removed that stupid loud thing but i left the switches and used them to work my dome light.
well one broke today and i cant repair it . I need to know what I could do to rig up a way to make the dome light come on with out doing alot of work. Does anyone know where I might find a switch like this??

Napa or any good auto parts store should carry that type of switch, just go in show them the switch and tell them you need one. If they don't have it in stock the'll order it

go to any stereo shop, they should have some. I'll get you 1 if you can't find one. We use them on older cars or as hood/trunk pins. it's nothing special so don't freak out about it being a hard to find piece. good luck
PM if you want me to get you one. Also attach your addy. |

well I couldnt find the one I wanted but I did find one I could use . I would like to find another one since that was the last one they had. I did find a neat way to mount it though . I mounted it to where one of the rubber bumpers go

here is a close up of the first pin setup, your suppose to cut it down to size so it doesn't brake or get smashed.

i tried at one radio place but the didnt carry any. i want one like the one you have mounted up buy the gas cap. i went to the auto parts place also and they had one for a 71 or 72 chevy...the original style but i had no idea where or how it would mount. plus i like the way yours looks anyway. so i wanted one like that. thanks, Steve

Dome light switch
I used standard door jamb switches, tapped the holes where the top bumpers go and screwed the switches in. The holes are the right size already. Then I cut the bottom off of the bumpers (part that fits thru the hole) and slid the bumpers back over the switch. Looks original just like a bumper... The dome wire is right next to it for easy wiring and you can run behind the seat to the other door. Takes 30 minutes.
