Stock Battery Cable Path

Does anyone know the stock battery cable path for a 68 1/2 ton with a short water pump? Also this is with ramhorn exhaust manifolds.

Well -- I've got a '68 C/10 w/ an L6 that I know is the stock path, and it's about the same on the '71 GMC Jimmy w/350 sbc: Positive cable runs from the starter solenoid along the passenger side frame rail up to under the battery box and connects. Negative cable should run from any unused 3/8-16 tapped hole on the block to Negative terminal. I believe stock battery configuration is Neg inboard -- Pos outboard. [I have reversed mine because I think the Pos terminal is better protected at the inboard position.] A beefy ground strap from the block to the frame is never a bad idea either. Top post terminals are period correct, and a lot easier to work with when connecting jumper cables or charging clips. Ther's also a 10 or 12 Ga. fusible link from the Pos terminal that goes to the contact stud on the pass side fender and connects to (I think ) a red wire from the bundle coming over the radiator wall.
Actually I remembered wrong on the V8. The Pos cable rides in clips on the fender skirt, about 3 or 4 inches up from the frame rail -- unlike the L6.

just wanted to say that you can find a good diagram of what you are looking for in the factory assembly manual. they cost about $40 and are available from most vendors. i held out a long time before i bought one and its worth it. just fyi. also--welcome from austin,tx.
