Most popular muffler system
I have finally got my motor back in my truck..(Motor shown below) More pics coming on that. New headers and as of right now it will be louder than anything. WHat dual muffler system have you used to make your truck sound good? I have been looking at magnaflow and a few others but still thinking.
Thanks. Truck69 |

Giving away my age here but you can't go wrong with a set of original style Thrush mufflers. Straight through design in various inlet/outlet sizes. Have to find them at a swap meet or some ones "stash". No longer available. Deep, low rumble until you get on it. Then they really "talk" to ya. Late 60's - early 70's era. Just my .02 Cents.

I currently have dual glasspacks but am wanting something else. Most likely a set of Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. They sound awesome on my friends '93 K2500. There are a ton of good sounding mufflers out there though.
Here is an old thread that you may want to look at. . . click here

I run duel exhaust with Dynomax Bullet mufflers. They look like glasspacks (for when the cop shines his flashlight under the truck), but they are not packed with anything. They are "D.O.T." legal, but in Texas they are not technically "street legal".
They are used by racers that need mufflers for a muffler class. To give an example as to the difference between these and glasspacks; glasspacks are 18 inches long with 2 1/4 input and output. They are a little longer for 2 1/2 input output if I remember correctly. Bullet's are 12 inches long with 2 1/2 input and output. They rumble at idle, and sound like the world coming to an end at WOT. Depending on how you route your pipes you can get some serious resonance, but I have found that at 65 / 75 mph there is barely any resonance in the cab. At 40 with partle throttle when you talk it sounds like you're talking through a fan. /end ramble (Since I've put them on, I've fallen in love with them!) Todd |

Everybody seems to love my exhaust set up, well anybody that likes cars does, 2.5 inch dual run out in front the rear wheels with 12 in glass packs....for a mean idle..... cam it. I can safely say I have a shaker.... and I don't mean a hood scoop. Hopefully some headers in the future to let the new cam breath.

I have one chamber flows dumped at the rear of my Camaro with 3" pipe. Sounds healthy to say the least. Lots of resonance and has a very deep Prostreet sound. Cops love them ! Wouldn't put anything less on my Hotrods.

Flowmaster, glasspacks they all sound like crap IN MY OPINION. I have LMC's dual exhaust kit on my truck. Bolts right on. Is pretty cheap to buy. You can hear your passenger or the radio while you are driving. You arrive at your destination without ringing ears. You will be able to hear your grandchildren when you are in your 70s. Damage to your hearing is permanent.

I was going to use Magnaflows but decided to change to Sweet Talkers at the last minute. They are made by Minute Muffler and are only available in Canada. They have a great snapping sound with 2 or 2 1/2" pipe and an amazing big block rumble sound to them with 3" pipes. I went with 2 1/2" inlet and 3 " outlet and they produce the perfect sound.

Here is a pic of them. Mine are 16" long with a 3" outlet coupler welded on
I payed $150 for 2 mufflers, 2 couplers and the shipping. They are a way better muffler than the ol glass packs. They can make damn near any size you want. Here is a qucik disection and description of them from their website ![]() The Sweet Talker was designed to meet the needs for a stronger, more durable and quieter performance muffler. This line of performance mufflers was built for the auto enthusiast, demanding more power and improved gas mileage, and for the serious off-road vehicle owner who is looking for the great ground clearance that the Sweet Talker bottles can provide..

I like Supertrapps.......... not running mine right now becasue of the heat and fumes that come up into the cab from between the cab and bed. Once I figure out how to cure that they will probably go back on. Purple hornies are cool and used to run the Corvair Turbos.
