Looking for a set of original leaf helpers for the 3/4 T coil rear on my truck. Don't care if they are rusty, long as they're usable and cheap.

I have a set under my parts truck.

Can you tell me, are they bolted or riveted on from the factory? Otherwise, I will have to go look to see and the truck is in 6 feet of chigger and copperhead infested Johnson grass.

If they bolt in, I'd sell mine cheap.

I'm looking at my 70 service manual and it looks like the bracket for the spring is bolted on, I can't really tell. The springs are held to the bracket by one big bolt, I know that for sure.

The factory coil overloads are bolted onto a bracket which in turn is bolted onto the frame. I have seen them with sindle leaf or 2 leafs depending. The e-bay picture is correct however it leaves out a critical piece and that is the overload needs to have the special lower shock mounts with the rubber pad that the spring contacts under load. They bolt on the bottom of your rear control arms. Without them your overlaods don't contact anything and are useless. The pain in the butt is getting those brackets off as the big U bolts that support the control arm to axel connection go right through these lower shock mounts. Sometimes it is easier to cut these big U bolts then trying to unbolt them with rust. And sometimes it is a bugger to get the U bolts to pull through the control arms as they tend to rust in real tight. Good Luck--Huck
