Phase 2 is compleete, and phase 3 is under way. . .

Well, I got my U-bolts and went straight to the garage, and jacked up my truck. Had the old axle pulled from under my truck in about and hour and a half. I had problems with the drivers side U-bolts coming apart. After 35+ years of being together, they didn't wanna come apart. But a little work with the impact, and they finally gave. SO phase 2 was the removal of the old axle, and now phase 3, the installation of the '72 axle has begun with the rolling of the new axle under the truck, lifting of the body to ge tit all the way under the truck, and finally, getting the axle back ontop of the trailing arms and installinbg the U-bolts. At least that's as far as I got last night. I hope to button it up today, and take it for a spin. Anyways, enjoy.

WAIT...aren't you going to clean and paint it before putting it back under your truck? There is always someone who wants to delay progress...LOL!

Well, the rear end is under the truck, and I can never see driving with 3.73's again!!! Bringing the RPM's down almost a full 1000 @ cruzing speed, is so much nicer. My ease of taking off at stop signs got a little slower. But I can deal with that!
