Unhappy cruise control disconected?

hey guys, here goes.... my cruise control doesnt work. first of all is there a fuse i can check? if so where is it, under hood or in cab. k now, how do i check if its the cruise control motor? and finally, the truck was owend by a lady who had it moded for her handicap, so she could break and accelerate w/ her hands, maybe its just diconected or something? i tried to get under there and look around, but no visible sign of diconnection.already checked the cruise control lever, its working. im thinkin its diconnected under the dash somewhere, dut really dont know which wires to mess with, maybe something's nicked-cut. a wiring diagram would help out greatly, thx in advanced guys...

Power should come from the gauge fuse. What year truck do you have?

The brake light switch is something you should look at. Do you have a tilt column that could be pinching the cruise switch wires?

Look down by the parking brake at the "convenience Center". The left hand row, top position labeled O R N is for the Cruise control. it should have a three wired plug in it. THIS MAY NOT BE ACCURATE DEPENDING ON WHAT YEAR YOUR TRUCK IS!

RE: "how do i check if its the cruise control motor?"

The cruise uses a stepper motor. I would rule out other causes first.
