If replacing floor panels, do I need new rockers too?
Hey Guys,
I am finally about to start replacing sheetmetal on my '70 C-10. On the left side, I need a rocker. On the Right, the rocker & everything near it is rusted away. My question is this: If I use Front & Rear floor patch panels, do I need new rockers as well, or are the rockers already part of the new floor panels? Also, any tips before I start would be Most appreciated! Thanks, John

Rocker panels are separate from the floor panels. So you'd need front and rear floors, and left and right rockers, and most likely the rocker backing plates too. You might check your cab floor supports, also.

All floor patches I have seen have the rocker backing plate built in to them.

John, check the cab supports also. Its a good idea to make all repairs from the inside out.

What is the best way to remove the old panels? Avaition snips / cutting wheel / ???

Cutting wheel for sure, you want to keep the metal that is staying nice and straight. Make sure you brace the cab accordingly if needed.

Bracing the cab, as in welding a piece across a foot or so above the floor?
