First time pull
Ok,
I am soon to be replacing the heads, cam, and many many gaskets on my truck. From what I understand the easiest way to do this is to pull the motor. I have never pulled a motor before (at least not with the intention of putting it back). It is in a 72 c-10 lwb with a 350/TH350 setup. I would love to hear all the tips and tricks. And I would love to know how many cases of beer it would take to get somebody to come out and help me pull it / put it back. This is a build that I won't be doing for a few weeks, but it is a build that I plan to do over the course of one or two days. Todd |

Id help but im to far sorry i ddid this in my 86 caprice it was striaght foward just get all the gasket surfaces clean Riddla

Well, they're not necissarily "new". They are the heads off of my 70 chevelle (441 castings) that "don't leak".

If I am going to pull a motor I don't just re-build half of it .If it comes out I am going all the way through it .I never did like doing a just top end or a bottom end only.JMHO

may I suggest that you save those "441" heads for selling to a circle track racer? some sanctioning bodies require the use of OE heads, no aftermarket heads. instead have yours gone through by a competent machinist.
as far as the procedure goes, do you have a digital or Polaroid camera? take pics as you go & if you have any Q's feel free to ask me or any other people here. I personally could do this blindfolded as I have done this so many times. Todd
