changing to automatic

After I put my new cross member in do I leave in the cross member further back the one that the hanger bearing is at ? With a one piece drive shaft does it go through it under it or take it out?

Thanks

I assume that your truck has leafs since the trailering arms attach to that cross member. You have to leave that crossmember in, it is an important part of the frame. The drive shaft wil go through it.
