Possible to change Gauge Needles?

My new instrument cluster's fuel level gauge went bad. I have an old one (the original) that is good, but the needle is pretty much white. I was wondering if I could put the needle off of my bad gauge on the good gauge, and everything be good.

I know most needles are a pain to deal with, and just wanted to see what kind of response I got before I just tried. (Since I ain't gonna be trying until this evening).

The needles are just pressed on so you can remove them. With the fuel gauge, changing the needle might cause it to read incorrectly. If you don't move the needle on the gauge and install the new needle without moving the movement it should be alright. It is tricky, so it might be better to just paint your old needle in place. Just slit a piece of paper and slip under the needle to mask off the gauge face. Use paper that paint won't go through.

Thought about painting...but if I did paint it, then I would want them all an exact match, and thought about painting them all the exterior color of my truck. (It's, orange...)

But, I don't think it would be that hard to get it to line up. I would def. make a trial run on the messed up gauge before messing up my "good" gauge.
