Later HEI question
On the later HEI with the flat 4 pin plug, did some one here say you are able to jump a wire or a couple wires and make it work with no computer?
I seem to remember 'ole Fast 68 saying something like that, but I do not remember the details. Been helping a neighbor replace the crappy Turbo charged 301 in his 81 trans am and running a chevy 350 with a 700R4. It's a pretty cool car with the 4 wheel disc brakes (for those who enjoy replacing rear pads every 30,000 miles) and leaky T-tops. Anyone interested in the left over 301 turbo motor? I can make you a good deal, tranny can go with it too. |

This is the best information I could find. He specifically talks about 4, 5 and 7 pin modules. From the sounds of it, a 5 pin can be used by plugging the extra hold and 7 pin units are right out because they don't have an advance mechanism (computer controlled).

Yes you can jumper the wires togather to make it work. Ive done it

$99 bucks for a new Billet recurved HEI w/V/Advance, 50,000 volt coil, cap, rotor.

Bowtie...99 bucks is about all we have to make the whole swap work, so I doubt he'd want to go that route.
