cuting firewall

Hello,

I need to cut out some of the fire wall to accomadte a new engine.
I could probably leave it alone, but if something ever happened and I needed
to remove the engine I would hate to find out things are too tight.
what if anything do I need to watch for?

Wow, if you have to cut the firewall for engine in one of these trucks, it must be a weird engine combination for sure.

Yukon Jack had to massage his firewall to accommodate the BB. Do a search… oh wait there isn’t one.

Yukon Jack has 4 wheel drives, this fellow has a 2 wheel drive. Different deal entirely. The factory never built big block 4 wheel drive trucks, so he had to modify his. GM built tons of 2 wheel drive big block trucks, so the engineering is done for you.

When you cut the firewall, look at where your heater stuff in the cab is so you make sure that won't cause interference. Also look to see if it will interfer with how your gas pedal is situated.
