4x4 trans leak

My 4x4 Blazer has a leak on the 4xpeed trans at the front seal. Plan to pull things apart come Sunday. Any suggestions to keep me out of trouble? The clutch is oil soaked so I may have to change it out with the pressure plate, throughout bearing, pilot bearing too. Will check the flywheel close for runout and hot spots. Any easy way to pull that front seal without disconnecting the transfer case?

You will have seals in the adapter that should be replaced. Be aware that when you pull the adapter from the tranny you will allow fluid to come out of your 4 speed so you might want to have it drained or get ready for a stinky bath. The seals on the adapter at the 4 speed side should be easy to replace without pulling the transfer case but I would go ahead and pull the adapter so you can get the seals on both sides of it. It is my memory that there are no seals to replace on the SM465 itself, just on the adapter.

Here is a pic of the rear of the SM465 when I had it pulled.

Think I am gong to leave the transmission and transfer case attached and just go for the front trans seal-&-clutch. Don't see any evidence of rear transmission, adapter or front transfer case leaking and ---welll, ifn it ain't leakin---will leave it alone.
