Quick Question about 88-98

OK, I was wondering if any 88-98 trucks came in shortbed form with the 6.5 diesel and nv4500. I know even if they do they are 1 in a million but I just want to know if they were even made at all so I know whether to waste my time looking.

You didnt specify reg cab or ext cab. My truck is an ext cab short bed, but its a 1500, 350, and NV4500 (very rare, gm has never even listed it as an option)

Regular cab, I also forgot to mention 4x4. Sounds like something I'm just going to have to build myself.

I have never seen a regular cab shortbed with a 6.5L period. There were several 2500 built with a 6.5L ext. cab and shortbed. There were also a few ext. cab shortbed 1500 4x4s made. Not sure about the NV4500 part.

I found a site that listed changes between 1992-2000 GMC Yukons (which is really what I would like to have) and it listed 1994 as the first year a 6.5 was offered, and they quit offering nv4500's in 1996, so it looks like i have to shoot for the 94-95 years. There were probably 10 of them made with that configuration, though.

Yeah I have seen a few Tahoe/Blazers with the 6.5L but never one with the 5 spd.

What site is that with the info? I would like to check it out.

Is this the getrag tranny?
What is the 4500?
I have a 93 fullsize 4x4 blazer with a 350 and 5speed from the factory.
The parts guys at the dealer told me to never break it because parts will be a B1tch to find.

What is the site address you found?

the nv4500 is a cast tranny with PTO outputs. Heavy duty trans.

Maybe they had Getrags. If so, that would suck because I wouldn't want one of those behind a 6.5, although I guess they run OK behind 5.9 Cummins.

NV is New Venture. I had a 1992 extended cab 350 with the NV4500 two wheel drive. Was nice but had to have a 4l60 cause BLVD. cruising with a manual trans was not fun.
