Dash
Is the dash between the dash pad and the windshield suppose to be a matte finish or a gloss? Or is mine just so worn that all of the finish hascome off. :p

It is supposed to be a flat color. If it were high gloss there would be lots of reflections on the windshield as you drive...like modern cars do.

I like when people pick on the newer cars.
Speaking of this and reflections, ever notice how hard it is to see the driver of the newer cars when your coming toward them? With the slant of the glass anymore, you can't see. So as for waving to someone you know, if I don't recognize the car, I don't wave.

I used flat black primer and then flat black on my dashtop. Masked off windshield, worked good. It's easier if you pull the dash pad.

I painted the top of my dash full gloss orange on my last truck. It was a nightmare in bright Texas sun. Think twice if you decide to go gloss.

Some one else said the exact same thing on here a couple years ago...every time I see that copperhead truck I laugh as I think about that post. (it has clear coat sprayed on the dash top)

I had already pulled the windshield. Also, I've already torn out the nasty piece of crap that used to be a dash pad (need to buy a new one). I taped off the rest of the dash as it will be a different color and painted the top a dark flat green. The same color as the door panels, glove box door, steering wheel and steering column, except those are all gloss.
