My old 70 CST/20 Longhorn had 300 documented miles when the original engine hacked up a connecting rod.. The heads were replaced right before I got it, but the short block was all original except for a timing chain every 100,00 (acording to the widow of the original owner)

A friend of mine had a 75-ish 3/4 ton 2wd chevy with a 350/TH350... It had a fully documented 350k when they bought it (the PO was some sort of travelling salesman), and when they finally got rid of it, it had at least 560k on it, maybe 660k, they couldn't remember for sure if the speedo had rolled over 2 or 3 times after they bought it. The only thing they ever did to it was put on a set of heads....it was definitely clapped out when they got rid of it, but it still ran and drove....
Maybe the original owner had the engine changed out before my friends bought it, but it's highly unlikely. He had oil change records for a full 350k miles, changed every 2500-3000 miles!!! Talk about anal.....

I have had lots of late model trucks with high mileage. I put 280k on an 88 Chevy, then let my service manager drive it. It's still on the road with 380k on the original motor.
I have a 96 Chevy with 320k on it and it still runs great... ![]()

I had a 65 SNB with 365,000 on her when I traded it off. All original with exception to carb rebuild.
Very touchy to start but good after that.

It is kind of a Chevy. I have 325,000 on my Chevy Turbo Spectum and still ticking. I've done nothing but tires, brakes, timing belt, etc. (Isuzu in disguise...lol)

Not Chevy, but it is GM...
One of my friends has an '87 Pontiac Bonneville, with the 3.8L V6. His grandfather brought it new, he was a traveling salesman I guess. Then his dad inherited it, he drove it to work and school (to finish old college degree). Then my friend got it, last time I have checked it has 412,xxx miles on the original (tired) engine. It has had 2 rebuilt trannies, though.

My 72 chevy daily driver has 299,232 on it as of today, heads have never been off. Truck was bought from my significant others uncle who bought it new. It's trucks like ours that bring the "lifetime warranty" parts places to the brink of tears. Kind of like me going to an all you can eat seafood buffet or penny beer night. Keep rolling the miles up, and you may get it broken in.

No clue how many miles, but my 70 has the original 350 in it and no mention of being rebuilt (no sign of it either). It is on it's second (at least) speedometer tho, which makes the mileage hard to keep up with.

Mine has around 173,000 miles, with the third engine. Who knows what happened to the original 350 block, but I have the stock heads(not on the truck) and the stock intake is on the truck right now. Here's the history:
stock 350 block was replaced with a 283 in who knows when, the heads and intake from the 350 were put on the 283 block, had a quadrajet but it wasn't original 283 lost oil pressure and locked up, my Granddad tore it down for parts Then he dropped a 350 "racing" engine in it, and that's what I'm running. It's got a quadrajet from a 74-77 Chevy truck and the block is from a 1970 Caprice, I don't know what the heads are from, next time I pull the valve covers I need to check. Now it sounds like one of the wrist pins are starting to knock, not good!!! I might have to drop a 327 in it if I take the 350 down for a rebuild. The rearend is stock with the old 4.11 farm gears, my truck never saw highway use till my Dad drove it out of town in the early 80's as far as I was told. All the body parts are stock, but not for long. Both doors are rusted on the bottom, both fender tips are rusted, and the cab is gonna get some new rockers and a new left cab corner in a couple months once I get enough money to afford it all.

Well my old burb has around 255,000 on it. Still has all the factory running gear. As far as I know the motor has never been apart. And if my oldest daughter is driving it, then it see's a few burn outs with her driving it.

My cousin had a 72 that had well over 200,000.He bought it from an old man that was the original owner. The tranny was rebuilt once,it had a small dent in the driver door, slightly bent rear bumper and missing the latch on the bed tool box.Everything else was solid and straight. When the motor finally threw a rod he sold it to me for 75 bucks. One of these days I'll get the original block checked and hopefully be able to rebuild it.Maybe by then I'll have found a latch for the toolbox.

rick has a 85 GMC 350000 replaced cam intake and timing gears and chain that's it. still wearing the original GM head gaskets and going strong. he pulls a 18000 pound trailer with it regularly.
