who wants to buy eric some new tires???

its no fun going side ways in teh rain when you are trying to brake

jackass in front of me at a redlight had his blinker on and was about to turn right and decided not to.

i had to compensate by hitting my brakes harder. with the rears down to the wear indicators i started to slide and had to attempt to switch lanes so i wouldnt hit the guy.

so picture this:

guy in right lane.
me pointing diagnal towards the left lane.

hahahaha

yeah sounds like you need to drive a little more defensively, especially in an old truck in the rain.

On real wet days I like to engage 4WD on my gmc, that way, none of the tires are locking up unless they all do.

Yeah smashing into the back of somebody is not your fault. It's the other guys because he decided not to turn. Tell that to the cops that write tickets for "following too closely" at every accident where somebody rear ends somebody else.

SLOW DOWN.

If your sliding your going to fast for conditions and your vehicle. God pitty the jackoff that rear ends a vehicle that my family is in under circumstances you described. I won't kill them but they will wish I had.
No such thing as an accident. Somebody screwed up.

When my friends car got rear-ended at around 40mph he went nuts, I had to hold him in the car so he wouldn't beat the crap out of the guy haha.

This guy was looking at a exploder in the lane beside him and didn't even realize that we had stopped. Didn't even hit the brakes and wham right into the back of the camry at 40-45mph pushing us into another car and then that guy hit another car, there were 4 cars that got hit because of this one guy. One car had no visible damage since it was the last one to get bumped.

If your driving on pavement with the truck in 4wd with hubs locked and it's not a full time 4wd then you are nuts and you will soon be spewing broken drive line parts all over the road.. It was NEVER DESIGNED TO BE RUN ON PAVEMENT EVEN WET. It has to have a loose traction surface so that it can slip the tires. Trying to use it as anti lock brakes is going to result in a very empty wallet at some point.

If you do have full time 4wd then your the one that doesn't know what your talking about because full time runs a center diff and you can lock the rears and not the fronts.

And he's right. 4wd does not make tyou stop any better. Infact it may make your truck harder to control under the conditions you describe. It will understeer horibly course understeer is usualy better then oversteer but using 4wd as anti lock is not so smart.
