Weekend Progress

Assembled the 350 that's going in the Big Blue Burb. I did a rattle can rebuild on it only replacing the gaskets. I also put on a bunch of new chrome parts that I powdercoated translucent blue. I think it looks pretty good.

What did everybody else acomplish this weekend?

Ron

I like that Blue looks great , the engine would look better with some Cerama coated headers .
The only thing me and BB did was get towed home with a dead electric fuel pump.

Yeap, the hooker headers looked pretty sad when I put them on. I might price out a set of new headers, but I've got some black high temp powder coating (good to 1400F) that I want to try out. The bugger is that my oven isn't big enough to do the headers.

I thought about painting the block blue, but I think the black looks alot better. If you noticed that the carb seems to be sitting a little crooked it's because I haven't bolted it down yet, I want to clean it up and powdercoat/paint it first.

Next step is to clean up the tranny, replace the front and rear seals, replace the pan gasket, tranny filter and paint it. I know most people don't paint the tranny but I figured I would, not going to polish it though. Once that's done I'll drop it in the Burb, hopefully this weekend.

Yeap, pretty easy too, the hardest thing to do was the oil pan because it barely fit in the oven. As it was I knocked the very back of the pan but it's not noticable.
