Where to get Oil Pressure from on a BB

My small block oil pressure line hooks up just behind the distributor. I'm building a Big Block and noticed it doesn’t have the same outlet.

Where do hook up for Oil pressure (gauge) on a Big Block. Pictures would be nice

Thanks

LH side of block down by bosses for clutch linkage (assuming Gen IV BB here). In other words, near oil filter.

Are there any more oil ports on small block chevys? I'd like to run a light and a gauge and dont want to tee off the same port unless I have to.

Some small blocks have an oil plug in the front of the block, on the passngers side I believe. It is a 1/8" npt plug so it is the same size as the one in the rear behind the distributor.

Thanks for taking my post.

Anybody have photos of where the port is on a big block. I'd like to see the line hooked up

Thanks

my big block 402 is on the drivers side down on the bottom above the oil pan. It is easier to get to from underneath than it is on top. I can get a picture if you would like.

thanks

Ron

Better picture. You can see where the line screws into right above the oil filter. It's the same 1/8 npt as the small block you took out had.

Here is a closeup shot. We had to use reducing bushings to get down to the 1/8 pipe fitting.
