Anyone local interested in a 71 k/5?

I'm not selling this, and I am just looking to see if anyone here may be interested...
My UPS guy told me he has a 71 K/5 that he'll sell me for 600 bucks. He says it is rough, but other than an exhaust pipe rusted off and headlights not working, it is ready for driver/beater status. I have not looked at it yet, and really, don't know much about the suckers. ie, where to look for major rot, weak points in the body, common places that crack...ect.
I would love to buy it just to part it out, but I don't have the time/space/cash. If anyone local is interested...or anyone not local that is ready to come here and haul it out of here (I don't even have storage space here) let em know, I might get to look at it as soon as tomorow.

All I know about it is 350 with headers, good front clip with a small pach of rust, rusty tub, and 4X4 stuff work. (hubs/transfer case)

Check the rocker boxes to see how they are, solid or not. If the drive train and chassis is in good shape its worth 600.00. Pull the rubber back around the windshield to see if the frame is rusty. Check the top for cracks. Look closely around the body for bad rust or bondo or both, haha. Does it have a top? Single wall or double? Look at the options, tach, tilt, air, etc. Its probably not a bad deal. How far from KY?
Thanks,
Jason

Hey Andy, Jamie and I fight over things like which tool to use and why things don't work. We don't fight over rusty junk--we share!!! If worth the hassle, we can come get it and split the pos down the middle!! hehehe

I still have a 72 Jimmy rolling chassis if anyone needs rearends, brake parts, frame, wheels/tires, steering box...etc etc. It really needs to go. I've beautified the neighborhood long enough.

OK, I finally got ahold of the guy.
It has a 350 with an automatic, Transfer and all works, 3 wagon wheels and one rally wheel, torn up buckets, console still there...solid but ugly (said it probably just needs cleaned/painted).
I will be going up to see it saturday late afternoon, early evening. I can have it here the next morning.

Well..I took pics untill my batteries went dead, since it was dark, my flash was on over time and killed them PDQ...but here's some pics of it.

350, sounded pretty nice, headers are rusted out, new alt but not charging...old style, needs new regulator.Looks stock, might have a cam, but it was probably the holes in the headers making it sound so. Fired right up with a jump start, rev for a moment, and then it'd idle on it's own. It was kinda dark so I couldn't see any smoke...but I didn't smell anything but a rich air/fuel. No tags, couldn't drive it, put it in gear, it hesitated, but then the idle dropped as it did go into drive. Went through selections on X-fer case, seemed to be ok 9considering I didn't move at all) Power brakes felt OK...again, not moving, but it held the truck, and the pedal was not hard, nor exsesive travel. Acc brackets were of original style, and all looked to be good. (couldn't look at pwr steering bracket by motor mount where they brake though) I looked at the frame rail bu the steering gear box, saw no damage (cracks) nor evedence of repairs. 3 or 4 row rad, looked to leak/leak in the past...2 wheel drive fan shrowd installed but damaged on the bottom. Nice steel braided plug wires, and HEI with accell super coil mounted on top.
The dash is nothing special, option sheet painted over. old aftermarket (sun) tach did not move. Unknown if it is dead or disconnected. 2 knob stereo...I think it was pioneer if that matters. Unoriginal seats...worn pretty bad. I think they may be from a later blazer? Center console filled with crap, seemed to be in good shape other than needing cleaned/painted. Roll bar...is this stock? I have NFC. 4 point, from behind the seats to the wheel well in back. (just noticed...no back seat at all)

I just noticed that it has the wrong console...cup holders instead of seat belt holders. Small detail...but none the less...unoriginal part.
The top is a double wall unit. There is a seam in the center...not familiar with these tops, so I took a pic.
The panel above the windshield is rotted out....one pic passenger, one on drivers side.
Drivers fender...drivers door....Fender seemed good, (one fender has small hole...I think it was the passenger side though) Door was pretty well toast.
Question on the door...It has the chrome vent frame...but no other CST options...No idea if that is normal on a blazer... Also, the top of the door where the wing vent frame stops, the door frame had been cleanly cut...again, is that correct? I know they have the same doors as trucks but with the frame removed...both doors were the exact same, and they are both from a 72 with the stupid little screw on them...but had steel door panels (67 - 71 style) though.

And my computer at the house just crapped out...moniter died. I'll have it up and going tomorow and post the rest of the pics.
Basicly, seemed like a decent reunner, body is junk. See through floor boards, door skins and quarter panels held on by minimal metal. Stock chrome rear bumper, class 3 (?maybe?) hitch, junk tailgate. Front clip was salvagable, pretty decent really, onless it is loaded with filler.
Grill was almost decent, slight damage, not very bright, din't remember if the inner grill or bumper was mangled or not. (I'll have to look at the pics on my computer to remember..I'm at my parrents right now)
Chassis looked to be good, I didn't notice any damage, rust didn't seem too bad on the frame at all. (by Ohio standards) It isn't rusting out or anything...just a good layer of controllable corrosion (from the looks of it)
Can't think of anything else at the moment...I'll have to look at the pics to jog my memory tomorow.
