What was the stock carb on a 68 307 or 327?
Title says it all. 68 1/2 ton with 307 or 327.

Skokie, I have bought tons of those 2 barrel Rochesters off of the parts board here. Post a WTB ad and you'll get plenty of offers.
Expect to pay 20 or 30 bucks for a carb. But, don't even consider shipping a manifold if you find one for sale somewhere. They weigh a ton.

Thanks I apprecaite the info. I did some digging into my manuals for the truck and found a Rochester 4mv and a Holley 4150. It didnt say what went were though. Isnt Rochester and Edelbrock the same now?

The 1968 rochester 4 bbl. # is 7028213 327 All
1968 rochester 2bbl. # is 7028105 307 1/2 ton early 68 7028107 307 3/4 ton early 68 7028125 307 1/2 ton late 68 7028127 307 3/4 ton late 68 7028217 396 all These are listed for 1968 out of a parts casting book that I have. I hope this helps. It has other engine part casting #s as well. Let me know if there is anything else that I can help with. I'd be happy to. John

Original 307 V8....
oil filler tube is located at the rear of the driver's side valve cover. The "support rod" for this filler tube is attached to one of the intake manifold bolts.

and it you put a 4 bbl intake on a 307 with a well tuned q-jet, they almost run as hard as the 327's
