help asap
i just got a new battery altenator and starter and a couple others right.
i put them in with only a little problem getting the belts tight. anyways. right when i get the battery cables to touch. the starter kicks in and trys to start it wont but it jst trys. you know what can cause it and everything and how can i fix it. i need help like fast i cant drive no where without this truck thanks shane.

Ok, what are you saying? Are you saying your starter is operating when you connect the battery cables? If so, then your problem is in the wiring and/or steering column/ignition switch. If you're saying that the only problem you have is your truck not firing, then check the wiring to the coil.

I think you have some wires touching on the starter from where you installed them. Try that.

Or the starter could have shorted inside, Had that happen on a PINTO years ago. Had to run down the street with it and jump in, it was trying to start and was in gear. S C A R E Y
