Steering Wheel

Ok i have no clue whats going on, i just put on the steering wheel off of my dads 1970 SS chevelle, and it bolted right up and everything BUT no matter how loose the steering wheel is, its has a softhard spot, yet in 2 spots(on on each side) its so hard that when ever you are driving the wheel won't go straight, did i fork something over when i put the new steering wheel on, or is it some other part? and is there anything you can do to tighten up the up and down slop on a tilt column besides by a new one?

Have the same problem - check that you have the right install kit (go to Grant site)
Otherwise grind a 1/8" off the mounting dome.
